The Foundation's Impact
The Children’s Aid Foundation provides tangible support to children, youth and families proudly serviced by the parent organization in the city and District of Thunder Bay. The generosity of community individuals and businesses makes this assistance possible.
Foundation donations were utilized to assist students who are, or have been, in care with the Society. Post-secondary bursaries reduce the financial demands of College and University tuition. Eight (8) youth also received funding to attend Driver’s Education programming. Donations were also utilized to provide youth living independently in the community with Christmas gifts and a communal dinner. Costs of recreational programming such as hockey, dance, soccer and martial arts were paid for youth in care through generous community donations to the Foundation.
The Children’s Aid Foundation also provided tangible supports to the children, youth and families of the community through provision of Bursaries, a Book Bag program and payment for camps on behalf of children who would otherwise have missed this opportunity. The Foundation also proudly sponsored Team Unbreakable, an initiative that annually engages 40 – 50 children and youth in a learn-to-run program, culminating with a five (5) kilometer race and awards banquet.
Families were also supported through the provision of mattresses, cribs, food and infant formula to help meet the immediate physical needs of their children.

For only $65 you can provide a child or youth with a back to school backpack filled with such necessities as pencils, pens, binders and paper.
